Scandinavian Airlines has seen a 4% increase in passenger numbers compared to the same time last year.
The airline has carried almost 1.8 million passengers between the UK and Scandinavia during January to September, compared to 1.7 million passengers in 2005.
It has also increased its market share on routes between the UK and Scandinavia to 37% – up 1% on last year.
SAS general manager for the UK and Ireland Lars Ove-Filipson said: “This year has been a hectic one for the SAS team – we have worked incredibly hard to gain this increase in market share. SAS continues to solidify its position and I am very positive that we will build on this success for the rest of the year.”
In the past ten months Scandinavian Airlines has added five new routes to the country including Edinburgh and Newcastle to Bergen, Stansted and Dublin to Helsinki and London City Airport to Stockholm.
