MyTravel signs up to support Travel Foundation – 28 Nov 2006

MyTravel has signed up to the Travel Foundation’s fundraising scheme and from January 2007 customers will be asked to make an opt out donation at the time of booking.

All MyTravel charter customers will be asked to donate 40 pence per person to support the Foundation’s sustainable tourism campaign.

The scheme will apply to all passengers travelling on any MyTravel brand and will be available when bookings are made through call centres, Going places outlets and third party agents, as well as the internet.

MyTravel responsible tourism manager Ruth Holroyd said: “We’re happy to support the Travel Foundation with this venture which allows customers to choose to make a contribution to sustainable tourism, just as we facilitate them choosing to carbon offset via a carbon calculator linked through to our websites.”

Travel Foundation director Sue Hurdle said: “Through each of the MyTravel brands we are able to communicate to thousands of consumers the huge difference that their small donation will  make to the Travel Foundation.”
