Travel 2/4 focuses on long-haul city breaks – 1 Dec 2006

Travel 2 - Hot Cities Cool Hotels Brochure 2007Travel 2/4 is focusing on the premium leisure short-break market with the launch of a new long-haul cities brochure.

The trade-only operator has introduced its ‘Hot Cities, Cool hotels’ brochure in response to a growing trend for customers to spend more and demand upgrades on flights.

For the first time Travel 2/4 is offering three and five-night packages with British Airways flights included in the brochure price to 21 cities including Dubai, Boston, Delhi and Singapore.

Commercial director Stephen Rhodes said: “The long-haul market has continued to develop, with consumers prepared to travel further afield for a three, four or five-night stay. This new brochure aims to help agents capitalise on that trend.”

Rhodes added he expects the US and Dubai to be the most popular destinations.

Prices lead in at £575 per person for a three night package to Boston staying at The Langham. Prices on BA’s World Traveller Plus start at £1,045.

Travel 2 has also launched its latest Indochina escorted touring brochure, which features four new tours as well as an ‘Agents Complete Selling Guide’.

The one page double-sided leaflet features more in- depth information for the agent on various destinations and tours.

Rhodes said China has grown 20% year on year and he expected to see this trend continue. Travel 2/4 will be announcing plans for a series of fam trips to the destination early next year.

The lead-in price is £390 per person for the five-day ‘Temples of Angkor’ tour without flights, or from £919 with flights from Heathrow.

Agents can win a 14-day trip to Vietnam for two people if they book a trip before December 31.
