Superbreak reports boom in Christmas bookings – 11 Dec 2006

Christmas bookings are up 37% compared to last year, according to Superbreak.


With the festive season just two weeks away, the company said the in revenue terms bookings are up by 47% over the same period last year and it expects to book 20,000 customers over the festive season.


The firm also believes that 30% of customers are still to book their Christmas holiday breaks.


Ian Mounser, sales director at Superbreak, said: “The average booking value for specific Christmas and New Year packages is over £700 which enables an agent to earn on average around £120 commission per booking. As we all know, shops are traditionally quieter at this time and these breaks are one way of boosting earnings.”
