The Travel Trust Association is offering all its travel agent and tour operator members personally designed consumer-facing websites.
The consortium has extended its dynamic packaging technology Dynamic SmartStart to offer members the opportunity to develop their own websites by including blogs, news feeds, picture galleries and wikis.
Italian cooking holidays specialist operator BuonGusto Holidays and travel agent Travorama have been trialling the site, which will be rolled out to the rest of the TTA’s members in the New Year.
Head of IT Andrew Knott said it’s more than a white label offering because the site can be designed to members’ own specifications.
“Members can design their own site and put in what ever content they like, so it’s more than them just sticking a logo on a TTA site,” he said.
The site includes all the content of the TTA’s suppliers but bans suppliers’ brands, which can be replaced by the member’s logo. The cost for members is £500 to set up the site, with compulsory training of £195 per person. Operating costs of the site are £45 a month.
Knott defended the costs arguing set up costs for other systems can be almost four times higher, with agents having to give up 3% of every booking to the technology supplier.
