EBookers reveals new identity – 10 Jan 2007

Ebookers has unveiled a new corporate identity this week, ditching the existing bubbles motif and “Born To Travel” slogan.

The online travel agent said the new logo is the first visible part of a wider overhaul of its website, earmarked for April this year.

The new look, unveiled on Monday this week, is also being used in a press campaign to promote its January discount offer and comes during one of the busiest marketing periods for the travel sector.

Managing director Alan Josephs told Travel Weekly sister title Travolution the changes to the logo, and eventually the site, will see the company reposition itself to consumers as the leading travel agency on the web.

“The essence of the brand positioning is that we are really trying to focus on what we do best, which is create the optimum place to search and book travel,” he added. “When we fully transition you will see a new tone of voice.”

Josephs said the new look would also help with using the word “Ebookers” in non-English speaking countries, where perhaps their may had been confusion in the past.

The new logo has been added to the UK site and will be rolled out in other territories in the coming weeks.
