Holiday Autos axes 17 staff in HQ shake-up

HOLIDAY Autos training development manager Julia Moorcroft and sales executive Kelly Baillie are among 17 staff who have been made redundant as part of a shake-up of the car rental company.

All 17 were based at its headquarters in Frimley. They left the company last month.

Group marketing director Sara Zimmerman said five people have gone from Holiday Autos’ UK division, where operations and administration, sales and commercial departments have been hit. The IT department, which comes under the group division, has been most affected with the loss of seven jobs.

“We had problems when we introduced a new reservation system earlier this year so we had to appoint extra people,” said Zimmerman.

“The system is now working smoothly so we have been able to shed those jobs.”

Zimmerman said the other jobs were axed as part of a company review.

“In fact, more positions were made redundant, but where possible we have offered staff other roles in the group,” she said.
