The Kuoni Group has announced the acquisition of villa and ski chalet specialist CV Travel for an undisclosed sum.
Entrepreneur John Boyle has sold the controlling stake, bought in July 2004 and held within his Hamilton Portfolio, to the luxury long-haul operator with the deal set to become effective on July 1.
Kuoni UK managing director Sue Biggs said the operator would continue to maintain CV’s three separate brands – Ski Verbier, Owners’ Syndicate and CV – while the present management team and staff will be kept on.
She added: “CV Travel is an aspirational brand that offers the best in luxury travel. In addition, its strength in the independent villa market, particularly in Europe, adds welcome depth to Kuoni UK’s mix of specialist companies and products.”
CV Travel was established in 1972 and originally specialised in renting private villas in Corfu before branching out into Greece, France and Italy, while the ski chalet product is centred in Verbier.
