Independent travel agency chain Harvey World Travel has launched a dedicated telephone advice line for travellers concerned about the latest airport security alerts.
The phoneline is for people who have booked their own Do-It-Yourself holidays – not HWT’s own customers – and are confused about what to do and the impact on their bookings following security alerts in London and at Glasgow Airport during the last week.
Managing director John Donnelly said: “In times like this, it is important to all pull together and that’s why we have taken this initiative.”
He added: ”We cannot take over their booking but we can point them in the right direction and our experienced staff are on hand to offer advice.”
Donnelly added travellers could find the prospect of ringing the airline, hotel, transport provider and insurance company daunting as well as time consuming.
The helpline telephone number is 08704 101380. It is manned from 8.30am to 8pm on Monday to Thursday, Fridays from 8.30am to 7pm, and Saturdays 9am to 5pm. Consumers can also email for advice.
