Protesters target Climate Care – 21 Aug 2007

Protests at aviation’s contribution to global warming spread to carbon-offset firm Climate Care and the CarbonNeutral Company on Monday.

Demonstrators dressed as red herrings appeared at the Climate Care office in Oxford, while others leafleted outside the CarbonNeutral office in London, declaring: “Carbon offsets are ineffective.”

Climate Care is involved with a growing number of offset projects, including First Choice Holidays’ World Care Fund that includes a contribution to carbon-reducing projects in prices.

Protesters also attempted to blockade the offices of airport operator BAA near Heathrow, where a camp for climate change was drawing to a close after a week of protests.
