Galileo-connected agents will have access to photos, videos and virtual tours of hotels worldwide as the global distrubtion system teams up with online marketing company VDM Interactive.
The move comes weeks after Travelport announced its acquisition of Worldspan, whose customers were the first to have access to VDM’s content in 2005.
Hotels connected to Galileo will be able to upload and distribute up to 10 photos per property free of charge. The content can appear on booking portals and travel websites as well as the GDS.
Director for hotel and car supply and distribution Louise Meyer said: “It is useful for agents and customers to see accommodation when booking hotels. This will ensure agents are offering customers the best option for their trip and it means they can do everything in one place,” she said.
