Ansett improves connections by widening codeshare pacts

ANSETT Australia has improved connections and frequency for UKpassengers through widening codeshare agreements with partner airlines.

The US Department of Transportation has allowed Ansett to share Air New Zealand flights from Los Angeles to Sydney. Ansett can also share services with ANZfrom Los Angeles to Melbourne and Brisbane, via Auckland.

ANZ serves Los Angeles daily from Heathrow and the US Department of Transport decision will allow it to market its, and now Ansett’s, onward flights to Auckland and Sydney more effectively to a growing UK market. Ansett has also gained approval to put its code on United Airlines flights to and within the US.

The Ansett, ANZ and United partnership comes after the two Australasian carriers joined United’s Star Alliance in May. They will market their travel options as an alternative for passengers travelling to Australia who may otherwise fly through Asia.
