Former Hong Kong Tourist Board directors set up new company

Former Hong Kong Tourist Board directors Richard Hume and Sue Whitehead have left to set up their own travel marketing company.

Hume Whitehead is offering outsourced marketing and consultancy services to the travel and leisure industry and has already secured hotel groups and a tour operator client.

Whitehead said: “Although outsourcing is well-used in the US, few UK companies offer that flexibility.”

The company plans to act as an external marketing department for small to medium-sized organisations or those based overseas that want to a UK presence, and offer short-term and long-term help.

Whitehead was HKTB regional director Europe, Middle East and Africa and left in November, while Hume has just left his post as HKTB director for northern Europe and Middle East.
