Prince and Princess Michael of Kent will be attending the launch of MSC Poesia, which makes its debut in Dover on April 5.
They will be joining the ship’s godmother Sophia Loren at a star-studded event to mark MSC Cruises’ first ship launch outside Italy.
“MSC Poesia is the first of our new–builds to be christened abroad,” said chief executive Pierfrancesco Vago.
“Dover was chosen as a venue to highlight the importance of the English marketfor the cruising industry.The event will be spectacularthanks to thepresence of the timeless Italian actressSophia Loren and the talented Italian maestro Andrea Bocelli and now, the presence ofPrince and Princess Michael of Kent.”
Andrea Bocelli,singer/songwriter KT Tunstall and jazz singer Peter Grant will be on stage inthe grand new music hallalong with the Ronnie Scott Orchestra.
After the launch event, MSC Poesia will embark on a 13–night pre-inaugural voyage from Dover to Venice, where itwill be positioned throughoutthe summer.
