ITT conference sold out

This year’s Institute of Travel and Tourism conference has sold out a month earlier than normal.

It took less than two months for the conference to sell all 400 places and because of high demand an extra 20 places have been added, all of which have already been filled. A waiting list has also been set up.

The conference takes place at the Aphrodite Hills Resort in Paphos, Cyrpus, from June 9-11.

Chairman Steven Freudmann said: “The Aphrodite Hills managed to accommodate an extra 20 delegates but we will not extend that. The fact everyone stays in one hotel makes it more effective and people value that.”

Meanwhile, another speaker has been named for the event. Eurostar commerical director Nick Mercer will give a presentation on changes that have taken place at the company over the last year.

Mercer is responsible for all Eurostar’s sales and marketing activities in all markets. Previously he has held jobs with Air Miles, First Direct and Open, Sky TV’s interactive platform. His presentation will be followed by a talk by former deputy prime minister John Prescott, who was involved in commissioning the new track from St Pancras station.
