Cooptravel.co.uk launches text message service for holidaymakers

Cooptravel.co.uk is launching a new text service aimed at giving customers up-to-date information about what is going on in resort.

General manager of the Midcounties Co-operative’s Travel Group, which operates cooptravel.co.uk, Geoff Hurmson said the new service called CT Mobile will see subscribing customers sent information on events, restaurants and weather reports.

They will also receive automated messages thanking them for booking and welcoming them home upon their return as well as local currency and emergency number information.

Flight delays can also be sent across, while it is hoped services such as car park booking will be available in the future.

Hurmson said: “In developing our travel business we are looking to differentiate our customer service and provide customers with access to information in a way which is simple and easy to use.

“The CT Mobile package will, at one end of the scale, provide our customers with the relevant emergency and reference information they may need in their resort, and allows us to enhance our customer relationship.

“In addition to this, it gives services and information that really could make a difference to their holiday experience. We will be looking to develop this into a unique and innovative service that is a significant part of our customer communication.”
