Triton conference organisers are struggling to find extra accommodation as delegate numbers top the 500 mark.
The conference has attracted 531 delegates against an original target of 450 following a rush of last-minute calls from agents to attend the event in Palma, Majorca, later this month.
Triton chairman Colin Heal said it was proving a struggle to find enough accommodation in Palma because fewer rooms had originally been allocated for delegates. He said: “We are having to beg, borrow and steal to find rooms.”
He added there are just 48 less agents than last year despite the fact hardly any Advantage members are going. Around 10 Advantage delegates are attending including chief executive John McEwan while most members have decided to attend their own consortium’s separate autumn conference instead.
Heal said the number of Global agents compared to last year was up by 45%, while 14% more Worldchoice members are attending. He would not reveal specific figures.
