LUFTHANSA has increased the frequency of its UKregional flights to Germany this winter.
Manchester services to Frankfurt rise to four a day from three. Birmingham flights to Lufthansa’s hub are also increased from daily to three a day. The carrier said its increase in capacity at Manchester was due to a 37% growth in traffic from the northwest airport in the year to August 31.
At Birmingham, Lufthansa will promote the increase in capacity to potential ethnic traffic flying to the Indian sub-continent. Flights from the Midlands are timed to connect in Frankfurt to Lufthansa’s extensive long-haul network.
The improvement to the Manchester and Birmingham flights come as the airline launches daily weekday flights to Hamburg from Newcastle.
Services are operated by Augsburg Airways, a franchise member of regional operation Team Lufthansa. Return fares lead in at £125.30 for travel up to January 30.
