Superbreak national sales manager Graham Balmforth has been appointed the new chairman of the Truly Independent Professional Travel Organisation.
Balmforth, who is currently acting chairman after Nigel Harris stepped down from the role in June, will take up the full position on September 1 winning a vote of the organisation’s 20 members unanimously.
He is now keen to increase communication between members and independent agents through both roadshows and the organisation’s website and is also hoping to provide more training through the TIPTO academy.
Balmforth said: “I’m delighted to be the chair of the organisation in its 10th anniversary year.”
He will be helped in his role by Insight Vacations sales director Paul Melinis who was elected to vice-chairman at the TIPTO annual general meeting this week.
Meanwhile agents who have attended the organisation’s recent national roadshow are being urged to claim their £20 high-street shopping vouchers which were being given away as competition prizes.
Currently 25 vouchers have gone unclaimed and agents who attended any of the 19 roadshows should visit tipto.co.uk to see if their prize ticket has been drawn.
