Nearly half of consumers say July 11 to 13 is the best time to go on holiday, a survey by isango! has revealed.
A quarter of us would choose to take the traditional two week holiday rather than a ten day holiday or long weekend. Less than 2% of people would choose to go for three months or longer.
Holidays closer to home are most popular, said the survey, with 41% of people saying the UK or Western Europe are the perfect locations.
Activity holidays are rapidly rising in popularity and the beach holiday is still a favourite.
Common travel compaints include going over budget (36%), long queues (32%), unreliable local touts (12%) and not having enough to do (11%).
Isango! cheif executive Ranjan Singh said: “Our research shows that for many people, if you want the perfect holiday, it’s not enough just to flop on the beach.
