Richard Singer has been named as the new managing director of Monarch Holidays and Richard Jewsbury appointed to the newly created role of chief corporate development officer of Monarch Group.
Jewsbury has more than 20 years’ airline experience, most recently with Emirates as head of projects and performance development within the enterprise transformation team.
Singer joins from Travelzoo where he worked for five years as president, Europe. Prior to this he held senior positions at Telegraph Media Group, including general manager of travel where he led all commercial, editorial and product functions.
The announcement comes after Monarch revealed it was “reviewing the current business model” in its latest accounts on Companies House.
Singer replaces Richard Francis who is moving to the role of deputy chief financial officer at Monarch Group. Francis will remain on the Group Executive Committee with a focus on the finances of the Airline, Holidays and Engineering divisions of the Group.
Jewsbury said: “I am thrilled to be joining Monarch, one of the UK’s leading independent travel groups and trusted airline brands. It is a privilege to be part of the resurgent Monarch team, post the successful restructuring and with the imminent arrival of the new Boeing 737 MAX-8 fleet.”
