Contiki has introduced a new trip style and booking tool which agents can use “like building blocks” to put together flexible group tours for customers.
The operator’s Independent Insider tool means agents can customise the trips to the customer’s preference so they can dip in and out of different group tours.
Each Independent Insider trip offers the choice of up to four cities, with three nights in each city meaning trips can be for three, six, nine or 12 nights in total.
Customers choose how many cities they want to visit and their start and end points – which include European destinations such as Copenhagen, Porto, Budapest, Mykonos, and the Amalfi coast.
There is also the option to include U by Uniworld river cruises on the Danube.
“Our research tells us there’s a segment of consumers who want a more flexible way of travelling, but still crave the social experiences afforded by group travel,” says Donna Jeavons, Contiki sales and marketing director, UK & Europe. “Independent Insider speaks directly to this traveller, and we’re happy to continue to innovate with our trips to speak to our ever-changing market.”
Developed with the millennial traveller in mind, every destination on the trip includes a “unique local experience” such as a progressive food tour in Berlin and a street art tour of Barcelona.
Each trip will offer free time and add ons such as a Vespa tour in Rome, a Patisserie Tour in Paris and a cocktail mixology class in Amsterdam. All Independent Insider trips include a local food experience with VizEat.
The longer the trip, the better value the traveller gets, Contiki says.
A 12-night Berlin, Prague, Krakow and Budapest tour starts from £1,445.
