Virgin Atlantic is on the hunt to find five travel agents with a fear of flying so it can attempt to cure them.
Winning agents will be among the 50 people to attend the Flying without Fear course on March 4, and also bag a £1,000 Virgin Holidays voucher.
To be in with a chance of winning, agents have to tell Virgin Atlantic when they last went on holiday, which Virgin Atlantic destination they’d most like to visit and who they would take.
A spokeswoman for the airline said: “We’re looking for five agents who have spent their careers booking people on fabulous trips but have a genuine fear of flying themselves and have really struggled to travel.”
Virgin Atlantic, which says 3.8 million Britons will not fly due to their phobia, has launched a January ‘Screw It, Let’s Do It’ campaign designed to encourage people to reject the idea of January blues and be more adventurous.
Shai Weiss, chief commercial officer at Virgin Atlantic, said: “We’ve all been sold this lie that January is inherently blue. It’s not, it’s a time for new plans and adventures. We want everyone to be able to say ‘screw it, let’s do it’ and try something different, fly somewhere new.
“Hopefully by guaranteeing to cure people of one of the main things holding them back, we can inspire Britain to choose something more positive than the clichéd Blue January nonsense. Nothing should hold anyone back from seizing the day in 2018.”
The Flying without Fear course claims free more than 3,000 people a year from their phobia of flying. To win your place, log in to the VS Flying Hub.
