Great Rail Journeys charters first river cruise ships

Great Rail Journeys has launched its first river cruise programme after chartering three ships from Amadeus River Cruises.

The eight itineraries, starting in April 2019, include sailings on the Rhine, Danube and waterways of Belgium and Holland.

Passengers can choose to reach their cruise by flight or by rail from London St Pancras. Sailings can also be added to the end of an existing GRJ tour.

The Five-Star Rhine Cruise on Amadeus Silver II or III sails from Basel to Amsterdam.

Prices for the eight-day sailing, departing on May 17, start at £1,395, including return flights.

The Fairytale Bavaria & Five‑Star Danube Cruise 2019 on Amadeus Queen sails from Stuttgart to Regensburg. Prices for the 12-day sailing, departing on May 6, start at £2,195.

The Glacier Express & Five Star Rhine Cruise from Chur, Switzerland, to Amsterdam, includes return travel from London St Pancras via Eurostar.

Customers can save up to £100 per person on selected itineraries for bookings made between April 1 and June 1.

Agents who book before May 31 will be entered into a prize draw to win a cabin for two on one of the charters.

Booking references should be emailed to rebekahamos@greatrail.com.
