Las Vegas-bound Thomas Cook flight diverts to eject ‘disruptive passengers’

Five men were reportedly thrown off a flight from Manchester to Las Vegas and arrested after the aircraft was forced to make a detour to Canada.

The Thomas Cook aircraft had to to divert to Winnipeg on Saturday because of “disruptive passengers”

Royal Canadian Mounted Police met the flight and the men were arrested.

A Thomas Cook Airlines spokesman told the Manchester Evening News: “Flight MT2924 from Manchester to Las Vegas on Saturday was diverted to Winnipeg in Canada as result of disruptive passengers.

“Five passengers were offloaded in Winnipeg. Our flight then continued to Las Vegas with a delay of 2 hours 40 minutes.”

The incident came after four rowdy passengers, who were arrested by police in Athens after being thrown off an easyJet flight from Manchester, were released by authorities in Greece.

The young women were removed from the service to Cyprus after the captain decided to curtail the flight and land in Athens after trouble erupted at 30,000ft.

The newspaper obtained video which revealed how passengers cheered and applauded when one of the group of women, who had launched a tirade of abuse, was ejected from the aircraft.

One of the group is said to have threatened to ‘slice up’ another passenger while another is reported to have soaked other travellers when she smashed a can of beer over her forehead.
