A former Wizz Air director is joining Flybe in a non executive role.
Accountant Heather Lawrence was previously a managing director in Schroders/Citigroup Global Markets, where she set up Citigroup’s aviation and travel team.
She also served as a non-executive director at Wizz Air until 2014.
The appointment of Lawrence comes as current non-executive director David Kappler announced pans to retire at the airline’s annual meeting.
Flybe chairman Simon Laffin said: “David’s long experience has been of great value to the board and he has made a significant contribution to the financial controls and audit process at Flybe and we wish him well for the future.
“I am delighted that Heather has agreed to join the board. She has extensive experience in finance and aviation, which will complement the skills on the board.”
Lawrence added: “I look forward to working with the broader team and drawing on my past experience within the aviation sector to support the group in realising its ambition to become the best local airline.”
