n seafarer launches albatross brochure



Seafarer Cruising and Sailing has launched a 2000 brochure branded Albatross Cruises aimed at helping agents, operators and group organisers put together cruising itineraries. It features net rates for cruises in the Mediterranean, the Baltic, the Canary Islands, and on the Nile and Danube rivers. Small ships specialist Seafarer became 75% owned by ground services wholesaler Albatross Travel Group following the launch of a joint venture partnership last summer (Travel Weekly August 9).



n cruislines introduce e-mail support facility



Sister companies Carnival Cruise Lines, Holland America Line and Windstar Cruises have introduced a new e-mail support facility for agents. The service can be used to request brochures or sales support material and ask questions about the cruiselines.The addresses are carnivaluk@carnival.com, haluk@carnival.com and windstaruk@carnival.com.



n sea containers route to belfast successful



Sea Containers has carried 125,000 passengers and 34,000 vehicles on its Heysham to Belfast route during the six months since its launch in March. The crossing time is 4hrs on a fast ferry that carries up to 80 cars and 500 passengers. Prices start from £60 single for a car and up to five passengers.



n Airtours baggage scheme to cut queues



Airtours Cruises has introduced a new baggage handling system to cut queues at airports and ports. After passengers check-in their luggage at their UK departure airport they do not see it again until it is delivered to their cabins. The move follows a summer pilot scheme.
