The ship, which was until recently only known under the codename F3, goes on sale to key trade partners later this month and on general sale in the spring.

The 19-deck ship is currently under construction in at STX Europe’s shipyard in St Nazaire, France and will be completed by May 2010. The cruiseline recently announced it would only be building one new ship instead of two.

The ship will boast the first ice bar at sea and has staterooms with curved walls and “open” bathrooms in a move to revolutionise ship design.

Meanwhile, NCL is extending its Wave sale until the end of March, offering savings of up to £400 per stateroom. Originally the promotion was scheduled to finish at the end of February.

Agents now have until March 31 to pass on savings on NCL’s Europe, Caribbean, Hawaii, South America, Mexican Riviera, Panama Canal, Alaska, Canada, New England and transatlantic itineraries.
