Steve’s Affinity for prawns leaves him shelling out for snack

WE ALL know teenage daughters can be a bit of a handful at times, but it’s not often they make you sick.

Not unless your dad is Affinity PRmanaging director Steve Dunne.

The travel industry spin-doctor suspected trouble when he gave in to his daughter’s pleas and allowed her to go with friends to her first pop concert in Brixton, south London.

Just so he didn’t have to worry about her returning home to the Dunne countryside retreat, Steve thought he’d stay late in the Affinity office, catch up on a bit of outstanding work, then go to pick her up after the concert.

Quite late on in the evening, Steve, feeling a bit peckish, went to get some food from the Affinity fridge, picked up a prawn sandwich and wolfed it down.

Unfortunately, Steve didn’t realise the snack was past its sell-by date, and he soon became violently ill.

Despite this calamity, our fatherly hero still made it to Brixton to pick up his daughter.

But he was ill for the next three days, suffering symptoms that Backchat would not be prepared to repeat to our delicate readers.
