Market leader revamps winter programme

THOMSON has added products from its new Platinum programme to its Winter Sun brochure which is launched this week.

It is featuring nine 4 and 5T hotels from the programme throughout the Canary Islands which include a hotel check-in facility for the return flight. The market leader has also included five A La Carte properties in the new programme.

Skytours has revamped its kids’ clubs for winter 2000/2001 and introduced the new Planet Vibe for eight to 12-year-olds.

Senior brand manager Andrea Evans said:”The older children wanted more grown-up activities so we have introduced photography lessons and acting where they learn a role in a play that they perform at the end of the holiday.”

Like Airtours, Thomson is also offering increased activities in its Young at Heart programme. Evans said research among customers revealed those aged between 55 and 65 wanted more than tea dances and bowling.

“Following consultation with customers we have introduced the chinese art of Tai Chi, hand massage and aromatherapy,” she said.

“These new activities reflect the changing profile of our customers and their interests while allowing everyone to join in regardless of their age or physical fitness.”
