Why isn’t honesty the best policy?


Speaking at the launch of its second-edition ski brochure, Airtours said ‘a lot of people who ski are senior business people who will have to stay at home to check there are no computer problems over the New Year’. This is Airtours’ explanation for why it has reduced millennium capacity. So what happened to product planning? Or is this excuse just tosh?



It’s about time we had some honesty from our so-called industry leaders ‘yes, we got it wrong’ and some honesty from our tour operators ‘we’ll charge you up to £200 extra, because we think you’ll pay it’.
