Virgin Holidays has launched a partnership with House of Fraser to provide information points in four of its stores in the southeast.
The first information point opened in the department store’s Bluewater shopping centre branch in Kent on September 25. It will be followed by others in House of Fraser stores in Bath, Chichester and London over the coming months.
Each information point will have touch-sensitive booking screens, an extensive brochure selection, and will be staffed by Virgin Holidays travel experts.
According to a Virgin Holidays spokeswoman, although consumers will be able to make bookings at the information points, they are not full-blown travel agencies.
Instead, they are designed to raise brand awareness and to encourage customers to consider their holiday options in a natural shopping environment.
General manager sales Chris Roe said: “Customers like to chat through ideas on their own terms and face to face.
“This brings the holiday suggestion to them in a leisure environment and boosts awareness for Virgin Holidays and our valued partners as a whole.”
