Orient-Express unveils new journeys brochure

Orient-Express Hotels, Trains and Cruises has launched its 2010 Journeys in Great Britain brochure, unveiling itineraries on the British Pullman and Northern Belle trains.

Following the success of the British Pullman’s signature journey, the Golden Age of Travel, the Northern Belle has launched its own signature journey, The Spirit of Travel.

All British Pullman departures are from London Victoria station, with day trips to Bath, Southampton, York and Brighton. Horticultural excursions include Exbury Gardens in the New Forest, Cornwall’s Eden Project and an assortment of flower shows such as Hampton Court and Cardiff.

Several key events on the sporting calendar are also catered for, including Wimbledon, Cowes Regatta and Goodwood Revival.

The Northern Belle excursion is available as a lunch or dinner trip at £195 per person and has 12 departures in 2010.

Managing Director of Trains and Cruises Gary Franklin said the Golden Age of Travel day trips were proving popular despite the current economic climate: “This product is up 15% this year partly because of the euro,” he said, saying that many people were avoiding European trips due to the exchange rate.

The company also offers five weekend breaks onboard the Northern Belle and the British Pullman: the Cornish Weekend on May 14, the Inverness Weekend or the Edinburgh Tattoo on August 7, the Chester Weekend on August 21, and the Lake District weekend on September 18. These breaks start from £715 per person.

The company operates a tiered commission system for agents based on sales volume.
