Malaysia Airlines has just launched a lead-in return fare from London to Kuala Lumpur of £399 to promote the destination.
A new advertising campaign to support the flight offer has been launched on 50 buses in Birmingham and Manchester.
More than 400,000 UK tourists visit the destination every year and the numbers are increasing, according to the tourist board.
Tourism Ambassador for Malaysia Jimmy Choo is promoting his home country as a safe destination that offers value for money.
The shoe designer said the former British colony also offers a wide range of activities for tourists, including beach activities and shopping.
Choo said: “Malaysia is good value for people. The hotels are beautiful and the food is great. There is great shopping for clothes and shoes.”
