Qatar Airways passengers can expect an enhanced 19-degree seat recline, more legroom, 4k widescreen in-flight entertainment and in-seat USBs as part of a new economy cabin which was introduced at ITB Berlin.
Alongside these developments economy passengers will also be offered improved connectivity, with up to ten times faster broadband, and more than 4,000 entertainment options on the carriers’ in-flight entertainment system.
The airline’s new in-flight dining, Quisine, will feature new tableware and more menu choices with 25% larger main courses, 20% bigger appetisers and 50% larger desserts. The airline has also increased its use of biodegradable products and is reducing single use plastic in its food and beverage offering.
Qatar Airways group chief executive Akbar Al Baker said: “We are very pleased to reveal our new economy class experience here at ITB, proving that our commitment to providing the very finest experience extends to all of our passengers, not only those in premium class.
“Our new economy class seat, with its redesigned recline system and additional leg room, will ensure that our passengers arrive at their destinations feeling rested and refreshed.”
Meanwhile, the carrier also revealed details of seven new destinations to be served this year including Lisbon, Malta and Mogadishu in Somalia, which the UK government advises against travelling to.
