A tour operator set up just a year is hoping to corner the luxury market after buying luxury operator Seasons in Style.
The Eden Collection, which was founded by former members of Elegant Resort’s senior management team Paul Beacall, Jon Clee and Claire Parsons, closed the deal for an undisclosed sum this week.
Managing director Beacall said following the acquisition, the company is looking to create “a powerful luxury travel group that is set to take the UK by storm in 2010”.
He added: “For the last 12 months we have worked incredibly hard to establish the company, and it’s a testament to the team’s dedication that we have been able to acquire Seasons in Style in such a short time.
“The Eden Collection has performed well in a difficult climate, smashing targets from the outset, and we are confident that our ambitious plans for next year will come to fruition.
“The current strength and positioning of both The Eden Collection and Seasons in Style, presents an attractive opportunity for the luxury travel sector.
“Continuing with The Eden Collection philosophy, and focusing on the delivery of a unique and unrivalled service, the formation of the UK’s leading independent luxury travel provider is well within our grasp for 2010.”
Seasons in Style chairman Peter Williams added: “The Eden Collection is a young company full of ambition and I’m delighted we have joined forces with them.
“I am confident that, through working together, the two brands will become a formidable force in the UK luxury travel market next year.”
