n Club Med postpones madagascar opening



Club Med has postponed the opening of its first resort in Madagascar until April. The property, in Nosy Be, is a former Holiday Inn which is being renovated to three-star standard and enlarged to 209 rooms. Lead-in price for one week will be from £400 perperson including full-board and water sports such as sailing, windsurfing andtennis. Flights will be extra at around £800 return,flying Air Madagascar via Paris, a 14hr journey. The operator expects to attract 30 to 50-year-old couples and is offering thempre-bookable excursions including jeep tours, nature trails and boat trips to nearby islands to see wildlife includingmonkeys.

expands portfolio



Gulf and Middle Eastspecialist DNATA Travel UK has expanded its portfolio to include Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Anew26-page dedicated brochure offers single or twin stays with prices from £477 per person for five nights’ bed and breakfastat the five-star Eden Hotel in Sri Lanka, return flights and transfers. Sri Lanka product includes stopovers in Colombo, beach stays, discovery tours of archaeological and historical sites and golfing holidays.



n sunset launches main 2000 brochure



Sunset Faraway Holidays has launched its main172-page brochure for 2000, featuring the Indian Ocean. New product inMauritius includes the180-room four/five-star Radisson Plaza leading in at £1,058 for seven nights’ half-board; La Plantation, a four-star, 276-roomproperty costing £930 per week half-board; and the 162-room Beau Rivage, a four-and-a-half-star hotel leading in at £1,047half-board for seven nights.



n carrier plans first dedicated programme



Tailor-made operator



Carrier is planning to bring out its first dedicated Indian Ocean brochure at the end of this month.The 70-page brochure will feature four and five-star hotels in the Maldives,the Seychelles andMauritius, as well as stopovers in Dubai.
