Teletext Holidays has opened its second holiday shop at Tesco Extra in Chesterfield.
The doors opened on Friday (June 4), and is the latest development in the retailer’s partnership with Tesco. More branded travel shops will open in the supermarkets within the next two years in other parts of the country.
Five staff have been recruited to work in the store, one of which is branch manager Nicola Joynes.
Nicola said: “At this time of year people are looking to escape for summer sun and we are expecting holidays to places such as Turkey, Spain, Egypt and cruise to be popular at the new store.
“It will be easy for people to come in before they do their grocery shop. They can brief us on what sort of holiday they would like and we can have a list of options waiting for them when they’ve finished at the checkout.”
The Chesterfield store has been designed to look modern, fresh and sleek with digital screens in the store to show a range of the latest holiday offers and destination video guides.
Managing director Victoria Sanders said: “This is a very exciting move to develop our business.
“In store, customers can access the teletextholidays.co.uk website on self-service pods, as well as tapping into the expertise of a travel agent.
“Customers enjoy speaking to a travel consultant, and when people are busy it can save a lot of time and hassle to have someone search for the best holidays deals while they shop.
“We have a brand that has become synonymous with great-value last-minute deals and that fits very well with Tesco’s core values about quality and choice. ”
Searches for the Teletext Holidays brand are up 66% on last year and visitors to teletextholidays.co.uk website are up 11% compared with the same time in June last year.
