The FCO has updated its travel advice for areas of the Caribbean as the region gears up for the arrival of Tropical Storm Karen.

Travellers were told to follow the advice of local authorities, tour operators and hotels with “tropical storm effects expected”.

Advice was updated on Sunday afternoon for Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, St Vincent and the Grenadines and the British Virgin Islands, and remained in place on Monday morning.

Maximum sustained winds of up to 40mph have been predicted, with heavy rainfall capable of causing flash floods and mudslides.
