BA UK and Ireland sales chief departs

British Airways head of UK & Ireland sales and marketing Stephen Humphreys has left the airline after five years.

He is believed to be returning to Australia to take up a position at rugby league club Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.

The airline confirmed Humphreys’ departure but no details have been announced about a successor in the role.

He previously held senior roles with BA, including regional general manager, southwest Pacific and general manager, corporate sales in the UK & Ireland sales division.

Humphreys joined BA from Sydney-based rugby league side Wests Tigers where he was chief executive.

He was formerly managing director of Stella Travel Services in New Zealand and held senior regional and sales positions with Qantas in Australia.

Humphries replaced Richard Tams who moved to become BA’s China executive vice president.
