Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson has been named as marketing director of Gatwick-based airline Astraeus.
The rock singer and commercial pilot is part of an expanded commercial team at the carrier, which leases aircraft and crew to a range of airlines including British Airways and Bmi.

The airline said increases in its commercial team came as a result of the “rapid growth” in the business. Astraeus is a 100% subsidiary of the Eignarhaldsfelagid Fengur travel group which also owns the airline Iceland Express.
