Parc Asterix will open an all new “secret” roller coaster and will refurbish one of its existing coasters.
Though details of the new ride are being kept under wraps, the park’s deputy managing director Guy Vassel said: “In 2022 we will add a secret new roller coaster and that will be our biggest attraction investment ever.”
The existing wooden rollercoaster, Tonnere de Zeus (Zeus’s Thunder) will also be completely rebuilt in 2021 and will receive a new circuit and track.

The additions are part of the park’s long-term development plans which over the last five years have seen the opening of 10 new attractions and three hotels.
The four-star hotel Les Quais de Lutece Hotel, will be the park’s third hotel and is due to open next year.
Vassel said: “The 150 rooms in the property will be situated around a re-creation of the Seine and the new rooms will bring the total number available on-site up to 450.”
He outlined park benefits guests will receive staying there which include half an hour early park entry and character breakfasts.
Vassel added: “Rooms will be on sale hopefully by the end of the year”, with introductory prices during the low season (April to June) from €90 per person based on two adults and two children sharing, including park tickets.
Agents booking Parc Asterix holidays can earn a 20% commission on direct bookings, and they can also book through operators.
