Travel Counsellors has been rated the UK’s best travel agent for the fourth time at the Guardian and Observer Travel Awards.
The homeworking agency was voted Best Travel Agent and Best Short Break Operator in the large operator category by the readers of the Guardian, Observer and Guardian Unlimited.
It was the only travel company to win two awards at the ceremony held at Cardiff Castle.
Travel Counsellors regained the Best Travel Agent title (alongside i-escape) after winning the award in 2006, 2007 and 2009.
The company scored 99.6% overall in the travel agent category and achieved the highest percentage score overall.
Managing director Steve Byrne said: “It is a well deserved public acknowledgement from our customers on the unique personal relationships that our travel counsellors build with them and the calibre of our independent agents who we believe are the cream of the travel industry.
“Despite reports of mergers and job losses, the success of our Travel Counsellors shows that the best agents can flourish with the right support if they are empowered to choose what they sell, and use our systems to build lasting relationships with their customers.”
