The Netherlands tourist board is meeting operators and retailers this week to promote its national parks and attractions.
The Holland Naturally 2012 campaign will build on the appeal of the Floriade flower festival, which is held every 10 years and attracts two million visitors.
A website featuring bookable and commissionable products is scheduled to be launched in early summer next year, and the tourist board is hoping to receive interest from touring specialists and agents looking to add experiences to city breaks in Amsterdam, Rotterdam or The Hague.
Fred Witte, Holland Naturally 2012 project manager for the Netherlands Board of Tourism and Conventions, said: “This is not a product where you will spend a week, but if you are on a city break, why not spend a day or two experiencing some amazing national parks.”
Holland has 20 national parks, five of which are Unesco-listed. It also has 20 national landscapes, which feature traditional villages and buildings.
