Cabin crew union Unite has given British Airways seven days notice of a strike ballot that could lead to renewed strikes from the end of January.
The union is demanding BA restore staff travel concessions withdrawn following strikes earlier this year and accept binding arbitration of all disciplinary cases related to the dispute.
Unite joint general secretary Tony Woodley said: “BA knows what to do to end this dispute. Four of the five outstanding issues are no-cost issues for BA. Unite is still open to talks, but BA must appreciate the strength of feeling across the airline.”
BA maintained a full service from Gatwick and London City through 22 days of strikes by cabin crew in March, May and June this year, and has pledged to run a full long-haul service from Heathrow in any future strike.
