TTA Worldchoice unveils training website

The first stage of the development of a dedicated training website for members of the TTA Worldchoice consortium has been unveiled.

The online training will initially be available to Worldchoice agents, followed by TTA members early in 2011.

The website is the first of its kind for Worldchoice and has been developed as a result of feedback from members of the 800-strong group.

Users are allocated a personalised log in, which ensures that all the training undertaken on the site is recorded.

As individuals progress through the various modules they are awarded points, which will go on to give them a bronze, silver and gold training status.

The training site features a destination section where many of the world’s most popular holiday spots are featured.

Users have access to a complete overview of the country or resort, including its history, climate, best times to travel and other important travel information.

The site has more than 40 travel partners represented in a suppliers section, giving agents the opportunity to gain a greater level of knowledge and understanding of the products and services on offer.

The second phase of the website will see the addition of skills training and business advice, including modules on areas such as sales training, HR and health and safety.

The consortium’s head of group marketing Eleanor Sheppard said: “Our members told us that whilst they remain committed to training, during these challenging times it is difficult for them to accommodate staff leaving their stores to undergo external training sessions.

“The aim of this new initiative is to help them offer their team members educational opportunities on-site in their stores and businesses.

“In a year when most travel businesses have suspended their investment in training, it is very pleasing that we have been able to introduce this new training initiative that I believe members will really benefit from.”
