Clia is inviting agents on a “unique” visit to the shipyard where a string of high-profile vessels are being built.
Limited spaces are available for the trip to Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, on March 13 to see P&O Cruises’ Iona (pictured), Royal Caribbean International’s Odyssey of the Seas and Saga Cruises’ Spirit of Adventure, which will all launch this year.
Andy Harmer, Clia UK & Ireland director, said: “This is the first time that Clia has hosted a shipyard visit of this kind, offering our agent members a unique opportunity to see five cruise ships up close and personal as they undergo construction.
“For the UK market, this is a particularly special visit as attendees will be some of the first to see two British cruise ships, Saga’s Spirit of Adventure and P&O Cruises’ Iona, both launching in the UK later this year.
“The event also offers agents the chance to learn about the cruise industry’s sustainability efforts, with three LNG-powered ships under construction at Meyer Werft – Iona, AIDAcosma and Disney Wish.
