Thomas Cook signs deal with CallUma

Luggage tag packs from travel services firm CallUma are to be sold across 800 Thomas Cook and Going Places agency branches.

The Thomas Cook branded bag tags provide clients with identity protection and lost luggage recovery assistance.

The £6.95 tags are printed with international telephone numbers so baggage handlers worldwide can call an operator to ensure lost bags are returned to their owners.

The tags safeguard personal information by holding unique tracking numbers – with personal details stored on CallUma’s database system and not on the tag – meaning that the traveller’s identity remains anonymous.

CallUma chief executive Tony Partridge said: “We are thrilled to be working with Thomas Cook UK & Ireland and look forward to sharing the benefits of our service with them and their customers.”

Thomas Cook UK & Ireland sales managing director Joanna Wild said: “This really does offer our customers peace of mind for their luggage and I’m sure it will prove very popular.”
