Australian adventure travel operator Intrepid Travel has restructured its top management.
Co-founder and director Geoff Manchester has reassumed the role of managing director.
Manchester previously held the position between 2000 and 2003 at the company he founded with Darrell Wade more than 21 years ago.
Former chief executive Wade continues with the company as an executive director focusing on new growth opportunities outside the operator’s existing business.
Manchester had been driving the firm’s sustainability programme and integrating recent mergers and acquisitions into the business.
The decision for the new structure is driven by Intrepid Travel’s recent growth, the company said.
It has expanded over the past decade from being an Asia specialist to operating adventure trips across seven continents, with revenue growth from AUD $28 million to AUD $130 million.
Intrepid Travel is planning for similar growth levels in the decade ahead.
Manchester said: “Travellers are seeking more experienced-led holidays and we sit within that space.
“Making this change positions us to realise the potential in our current business, while also being free to fully explore new opportunities.”
