Ireland’s Treasures go on display

THE Irish Tourist Board will be exhibiting in the Northern Ireland area of the British Travel Trade Fair for the fourth consecutive year.

This year, the two will be promoting the 12 northern-most counties of Ireland as part of the Ireland’s Treasures campaign, which they are bringing to the exhibition for the first time.

Launched last summer, the trade and consumer campaign aims to promote the six counties of Northern Ireland alongside the six surrounding counties in the Irish Republic.

“We are delighted to be able to join Northern Ireland once again to gain access to the BTTF,” said Vera Stedman of the ITB group and product department. “This is our favourite show for coach and group travel and it will be the first time we have had the Ireland’s Treasures campaign at BTTF.”

Among the new attractions being promoted by the ITB is the Millennium Garden in County Kildare. Details of festivals and race meetings taking place throughout the year will also be available from the Irish Tourist Board stand. “Our festivals and races are very successful in attracting visitors,”said Stedman

The literature available from the ITB includes details of accommodation across Ireland, including 58 new hotels many of which are in the three-star category. A further 31 hotels, with a total of 2,000 rooms, will open this year.
